Blue Card Germany

The Blue Card is a work permit for highly-skilled non-EU citizens in the European Union. It is intended to make it easier for these individuals to work and live in the EU and to help address labor shortages in certain sectors.

Easier mobility: Holders of a Blue Card are able to move more easily within the EU, as they are not subject to the same restrictions as other non-EU citizens.
Path to permanent residence: After holding a Blue Card for 18-24 months, depending on the country, the holder may be eligible for permanent residence in the EU country where they are working.
Family reunification: The holder’s family members may be able to join them in the EU country where they are working.
No language requirements: Some countries do not require a language test for the Blue Card, which can make the application process easier.
Access to social security and health care: Holders of a Blue Card are entitled to the same social security and health care benefits as EU citizens.
